The town of Rineyville, KY historical marker.

Rineyville is a small community in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. It is known as an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a recognized area with a name, but it doesn't have its own city government like a town or city would.

Rineyville is located about 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Elizabethtown. In 2020, about 3,039 people lived here. A railway line, the Paducah and Louisville Railway, runs through the community from north to south.

How Rineyville is Governed

Since Rineyville is not a formal city, it doesn't have a mayor or city council. Instead, a local leader called a Magistrate helps represent the community. This Magistrate is chosen by people in the area and works with the Hardin County Fiscal Court. The Fiscal Court is like the main governing body for the whole county.

Local Services

For safety, the Kentucky State Police helps keep the community safe. They have a local office, called Post 4, in Elizabethtown. The Rineyville Fire Department is made up of over 30 volunteers. These brave people give their time to help protect the community from fires and other emergencies. The fire department started in 1979.

Neighboring Communities
