Ringland is a lively area in the city of Newport, located in South Wales. It is known as both a "community" and an "electoral ward." Think of a community as a local area with its own identity, and an electoral ward as a division used for voting in local elections.

Discovering Ringland
Where is Ringland Located?
Ringland is easy to find! It's located in South Wales, very close to a major road called the M4 motorway. This makes it simple to travel to and from. The area has clear boundaries, like Ringland Way to the east and the M4 motorway to the north. It's also just a 12-minute drive from Newport Railway Station, which connects to other parts of the country.
Homes and History
Most of the houses and flats in Ringland, along with its shopping center, were built by the local council during the 1950s and 1960s. Many of these homes have nice, large gardens. In 2017, there were plans announced to update some of the older buildings, like maisonettes (apartments on two floors), and replace them with modern homes. This project was designed by architects and developed by Newport City Homes.
Green Spaces and Nature
Ringland is not just about buildings; it also has lovely green spaces. One of these is Ringland Wood, which is looked after by the Woodland Trust. These green areas provide great places for people to enjoy nature and spend time outdoors.
Fun Things to Do
On the north side of the M4 motorway, Ringland is home to the amazing 5-star Celtic Manor Resort. This is a very famous place known for its golf courses and luxury facilities. In 2015, there were also plans to improve the local shopping center, making it an even better place for residents to visit.
Ancient Discoveries
In 2017, a special site was created on Hartridge Farm Road. During the development of this site, archaeologists made exciting discoveries! They found remains from the Iron Age and Roman periods. This shows that people lived in this area a very long time ago, giving us a glimpse into its ancient past.
