The Ripple River is a small and interesting river located in the state of Minnesota, United States. It's known for its winding path, which makes it much longer than it looks on a map!

Where Does the Ripple River Start and End?

The Ripple River begins its journey in Crow Wing County, Minnesota. It flows out of a beautiful place called Bay Lake. From there, it travels quite a distance before reaching its final destination.

The river ends in the town of Aitkin. This town is the main city in Aitkin County. The Ripple River joins a much larger and more famous river there: the mighty Mississippi River.

How Long is the Ripple River?

Even though the Ripple River is considered small, it has a surprisingly long path. If you were a bird flying straight from where the river starts to where it ends, the distance would only be about 11 miles (18 km). This is often called "as the crow flies."

However, rivers don't fly straight! The Ripple River takes a very curvy and winding route. Because of all its twists and turns, the actual length of the river is much longer. It flows for about 42.3 miles (68.1 km) from its beginning to its end. This makes it a fun river to explore, with many different sections to discover along its journey.
