The Rivière aux Pommes is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the Jacques-Cartier River. This river runs through several towns. These include Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Pont-Rouge, Neuville, and Donnacona. It is part of the Portneuf Regional County Municipality. This area is in the Capitale-Nationale region.
The valley around the Rivière aux Pommes is easy to reach. Main roads like Route 365 and Autoroute 40 serve the area. These roads connect cities like Quebec and Trois-Rivières. Some smaller roads help farmers get around.

Where the River Starts and Flows

The starting point is about 3.6 kilometers east of Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier village. It's also about 19 kilometers northwest of where the river ends.
The river flows for about 36.1 kilometers. It drops about 89 meters from its source to its mouth. Here's how it flows:
- It flows southeast for 3.3 kilometers. It makes a big curve through farmland. This part ends at a dam near Route 367.
- Next, it goes south for 5.1 kilometers. It crosses a golf course and picks up water from small lakes. It passes a small village near Route 358.
- Then, it continues south for 4.5 kilometers. It flows through a small village near Lake Saint-Denis in Pont-Rouge. This section ends at Josaphat-Martel road.

The name "Rivière aux Pommes" means "Apple River" in French. This name has been used since the time of the French Regime. It might refer to the fruit of the hawthorn tree. These small, apple-like fruits are called "cenelles" in French. Hawthorn trees are very common in this area.
The official name "Rivière aux Pommes" was made formal on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec.
