Robert DeLafayette Jeter III (born May 15, 1969) is an American college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach for the Southern Utah team.

About Rob Jeter's Life
Rob Jeter was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Chicago. His father, Bob Jeter, was a famous football player. He was a star halfback for the Iowa Hawkeyes and later played as a defensive back in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers. Bob Jeter is even in the Packer Hall of Fame!
Rob's brother, Carlton Jeter, played basketball with him in college. His uncle, Tony Jeter, also played football in the NFL. Rob Jeter is married to Deanna, and they have three sons named Robert, Jonathan (J.T.), and Jackson, plus a daughter named Jolie.
Rob Jeter's Playing Days
Jeter went to high school in Chicago. He then played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville from 1987 to 1991. He was a starting forward under coach Bo Ryan.
Jeter was the team captain when they won the NCAA Division III tournament in 1991. He was also named to the all-Final Four team. He still holds records at UW–Platteville for his high field goal percentage and for starting 89 games in a row. During his four years, his team won 102 games and lost only 16. He was recognized as a top player in his conference and region multiple times.
After college, he played professional basketball overseas in Portugal from 1992 to 1993. He was the top scorer in the Portuguese national league. In 2006, he was honored by being inducted into the UW–Platteville Athletic Hall of Fame.
Rob Jeter's Coaching Journey
Jeter started his coaching career as an assistant at his old college, UW–Platteville, in 1994. He helped the team win national titles in 1995 and 1998. After that, he was an assistant coach at Marquette and then at Milwaukee. He later joined coach Bo Ryan again as an assistant at Wisconsin.
Coaching at Wisconsin
From 2001 to 2005, Jeter was a key assistant coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. He was in charge of finding new players for the team. During his time there, Wisconsin won two Big Ten championships and one Big Ten tournament title. They also made it to the NCAA Tournament four years in a row. In 2003, they reached the Sweet 16, and in 2005, they made it to the Elite Eight. The team won almost 23 games per season and had a 38-game winning streak at home.
Leading the Milwaukee Panthers
In 2005, Jeter became the head coach at Milwaukee. In his first year, he led the Panthers to a conference championship and a win in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament. Over the next 10 seasons, he helped Milwaukee win another Horizon League title in 2011. They also played in other tournaments like the NIT and CBI. In 2014, they won another Horizon League tournament title and went to the NCAA Tournament. He coached Milwaukee until the end of the 2015–16 season.
Recent Coaching Roles
After Milwaukee, Jeter worked as an assistant coach at UNLV from 2016 to 2018. He then joined the coaching staff at Minnesota.
On March 30, 2020, Rob Jeter was named the head coach for the Western Illinois team. He coached there until 2023. Since 2023, he has been the head coach for the Southern Utah team.
