Robert Kelley (born October 3, 1992), also known by his nickname "Fat Rob", is a former football player. He played the running back position in the National Football League (NFL). A running back's main job is to run with the football.
Kelley played football in college for the Tulane Green Wave. He later joined the Washington Redskins in 2016. He was not chosen in the official NFL draft, but the team signed him afterward as an undrafted free agent.

Early Life and College Career
Kelley grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he played football at O. Perry Walker High School. After high school, he went to Tulane University and played for their football team from 2011 to 2015.
Playing for the Tulane Green Wave
During his time at Tulane, Kelley was an important part of the team's offense. He shared running duties with other players but still put up solid numbers.
- In 2011, his first year, he rushed for 332 yards and scored two touchdowns.
- In 2012, he led the team with 286 rushing yards and also caught 46 passes for 340 yards and four touchdowns.
- In 2013, he had his best rushing season with 420 yards and three touchdowns.
- In 2015, his final season, he rushed for 232 yards and scored one touchdown.
Kelley did not play during the 2014 season. He was suspended from the team after a disagreement with another student. He returned to the team for the 2015 season.

Professional NFL Career
Kelley played in the NFL for three seasons with the Washington Redskins.
Washington Redskins (2016–2018)
A Strong Rookie Season
The Washington Redskins signed Kelley on May 6, 2016. He quickly proved he belonged in the NFL. After another player got injured, Kelley became the starting running back.
He had a fantastic game on November 20, 2016, against the Green Bay Packers. He rushed for a career-high 137 yards and scored three touchdowns. The game was shown on national television during NBC Sunday Night Football. By the end of his first season, he had rushed for 704 yards and scored six touchdowns.
Injuries in Later Seasons
In 2017, Kelley's playing time was reduced as the team used other running backs more often. His season was cut short by ankle and knee injuries in November. He finished the year with 194 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
In 2018, a toe injury kept him from playing most of the season. He only played in two games.
New Orleans Saints (2019)
On July 30, 2019, Kelley signed with his hometown team, the New Orleans Saints. However, he was released from the team just four days later. This was his last team in the NFL.
Personal Life
Kelley was born in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. In 2005, when he was a child, his family lost their home because of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
His nickname, "Fat Rob," came from his time at Tulane. His running backs coach gave him a backpack with the name on it, and the nickname stuck.
