Robert Kilgore Muchamore is a popular English author. He writes exciting books for young adults, especially known for his adventure series like CHERUB, Henderson's Boys, and Rock War. He was born on December 26, 1971.

Robert's Early Life

Robert Muchamore grew up in Tufnell Park, London. He was the youngest of four children. His dad was a milkman and his mom was a cleaning lady. Robert went to St. Johns Upper Holloway and Acland Burghley School. He always wanted to be a writer, an architect, or a photographer.

Robert's Writing Career

The CHERUB Series

Robert Muchamore started writing the CHERUB books because his nephew, Jared, couldn't find books he liked. Robert wanted to write stories he would have enjoyed as a teenager. He felt he was too old for kids' books but not quite ready for adult novels.

The CHERUB series is about a secret spy organization. It's called CHERUB, which stands for Charles Henderson's Espionage Research Unit B. This group is part of the British Secret Service. They recruit kids who don't have families and train them to be spies.

  • Why Kids as Spies?

* Kids are used because adults often don't suspect them. * They can investigate things like international terrorists or gang leaders.

  • Training to be a CHERUB Agent

* Agents start basic training when they are ten years old. * This training is a tough 100-day course. * It prepares them for dangerous missions. * After training, agents go on missions until they are seventeen. Then they have to retire.

Robert Muchamore has written seventeen CHERUB novels. He also wrote a short book for World Book Day. Together, these books have sold over 15 million copies! The CHERUB series is sold in more than twenty countries. Many books have won awards, especially The Recruit, which won eight literature awards.

The Henderson's Boys Series

Muchamore also wrote a second series called Henderson's Boys. These books tell the story of how CHERUB started. The first book, The Escape, came out in 2009. There are seven books in this series, with the last one, Scorched Earth, released in 2013.

The Henderson's Boys books are set during World War II. They follow Charles Henderson, a British secret agent. He is the one who creates the spy organization that later becomes CHERUB. The stories focus on four children: Marc Kilgour, Paul Clarke, Rosie Clarke, and PT Bivott.

The CHERUB: Aramov Series

This is a second set of CHERUB books. It's called Aramov because the main bad guys in the first three books are the Aramov Clan.

  • People's Republic was released in 2011.
  • Guardian Angel came out in 2012.
  • Black Friday was released in 2013.
  • Lone Wolf came out in 2014.
  • The final book, New Guard, was released in 2016.

The Rock War Series

In 2014, Robert Muchamore announced a new series called Rock War. These books are not connected to CHERUB or Henderson's Boys. They are about Jay, Summer, and Dylan, who enter a music competition.
