Robert Anthony Woodard II (born September 22, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League. Before turning professional, he played college basketball for Mississippi State.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Robert Woodard II grew up playing both basketball and baseball. By the time he started high school, he decided to focus only on basketball. This was partly because he was already very tall! Even in eighth grade, big colleges were noticing his talent.
Robert played basketball for Columbus High School in Columbus, Mississippi.
- As a sophomore, he helped Columbus win its first Mississippi Class 6A state title. He averaged 20.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and four assists per game.
- In his junior year, he averaged 25.2 points, 13.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and three blocks per game. He was named Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year.
- As a senior, Robert won his second Class 6A state championship. He also won the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year award again!
He was a highly-rated player and chose to play college basketball for Mississippi State. Many other top colleges also wanted him to play for them.
College Basketball Career
Robert Woodard II played for Mississippi State from 2018 to 2020.
- As a freshman, he averaged 5.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He worked hard on his shooting and strength during the summer.
- In his sophomore year, he improved a lot. He averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
- One of his best games was on November 17, 2019. He scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against New Orleans.
After his sophomore season, Robert decided to enter the 2020 NBA draft to become a professional player.
Professional Basketball Journey
Robert Woodard II began his professional career in 2020.
Starting in the NBA and G League
The Memphis Grizzlies picked Robert as the 40th player in the 2020 NBA draft. He was then traded to the Sacramento Kings. He officially signed with the Kings on December 1, 2020. During his time with the Kings, he also played for their G League teams, the Austin Spurs and later the Stockton Kings.
In February 2022, the Kings decided to release him.
Playing for Oklahoma City Blue
After leaving the Kings, Robert joined the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League in February 2022. He also signed a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs in March 2022, which allowed him to play for both the Spurs and their G League team.
In October 2022, he briefly signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder before returning to the Oklahoma City Blue for the 2022-2023 season.
Playing Overseas
In August 2023, Robert moved to France to play for ADA Blois in the French league. Later that year, in December 2023, he signed with Maroussi, a team in Greece, where he played until 2024.
Return to the G League
In October 2024, Robert joined the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League. Most recently, in January 2025, he was traded to the Delaware Blue Coats, where he plays now.
Playing for Team USA
Robert Woodard II has also represented the United States in international competitions. In 2015, he won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2015 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship in Argentina. He played in all five games, helping his team win the championship.
Family Connection to Basketball
Basketball runs in Robert's family! His father, also named Robert Woodard, was a fantastic basketball player too. His dad holds the record for the most points scored by a boy in Mississippi high school basketball history, with 4,274 points. He also played college basketball for Mississippi State, just like his son.
