Roberto Cammarelle (born 30 July 1980) is a famous Italian amateur boxer. He is best known for winning a gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He also won the World Amateur Boxing Championships twice. These wins were in 2007 (Chicago) and 2009 (Milan). Roberto competed as a super heavyweight boxer. He also earned a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Roberto's Early Life

Roberto Cammarelle was born in Cinisello Balsamo, a town near Milan, Italy. His parents came from a region in southern Italy called Basilicata. His father, Angelo Cammarelle, is from Rionero in Vulture. His mother, Giovanna Caraffa, is from Filiano. Roberto is also a member of the Italian State Police. This means he serves as a police officer in Italy.
