Robin Robinson (born August 4, 1957) is a famous TV news anchor from Chicago. She worked for a long time, 27 years, as the main news anchor at WFLD-TV, which is a Fox TV station in Chicago. Today, you can hear her on the radio at WBBM (AM) as a fill-in anchor and reporter. She also hosts her own show called 'Robin's Nest' on WVON radio.

Early Life and School
Robin Robinson was born in Chicago. Her dad, Louie Robinson, was an editor for Ebony magazine. When Robin was three years old, her family moved to Pomona, California. Later, they moved to Claremont, California. She went to Claremont High School. Robin also earned a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University.
Her Career in News
Robin Robinson started her career in 1979. She worked at KGTV-TV in San Diego as a reporter. She also read the news in the mornings. In 1982, she moved to KMGH-TV in Denver. There, she reported on things that help people as consumers.
Joining WBBM-TV
In 1984, Robin came back to Chicago. She joined WBBM-TV as a consumer reporter. Soon after, she became a news anchor. She worked at WBBM-TV until 1987.
Working at WFLD-TV
In 1987, Robin joined WFLD-TV in Chicago. She was part of the first team to anchor the evening news there. She worked with Kris Long. Robin stayed at WFLD for 27 years. She won many local Emmy awards for her great work.
She also appeared on the TV show The Chicago Code. She played a Fox Chicago reporter on the show.
In 2013, Robin stopped being the main anchor for the 9 PM news at WFLD. She took on a new role. She hosted a special segment called 'Chicago at the Tipping Point.' This segment focused on the problem of violence in Chicago. She left WFLD in 2014 after her long career there.
After WFLD
After leaving WFLD, Robin continued her work in media. In 2015, she became a fill-in anchor and reporter for WBBM (AM) NewsRadio. She also started hosting her own show on WVON-FM. Later that year, she joined a public affairs show called 'In The Loop' on WYCC, a PBS station in Chicago.
Robin also worked with the Chicago Police Department. She helped with public outreach during the time Rahm Emanuel was mayor. She left this role when Lori Lightfoot became mayor.
The Santa Claus Comment
On December 1, 2011, during a live news show, Robin made a comment about Santa Claus. She said, "There is no Santa." Many people called and sent emails to the station because of this. Robin later said she was sorry. She explained that she should have warned viewers to take any children out of the room first.
Her Family Life
Robin Robinson has two children. Her daughter, Jade, was born in 1989. Her son, Cameron, was born in 1991. Robin lives in the Bucktown neighborhood in Chicago.
