RoboCop is a cool animated series from 1988. It's based on the popular 1987 RoboCop movie. This cartoon was shown as part of the Marvel Action Universe TV block.
The show changed some things from the movie to make it more suitable for younger viewers. For example, bullets were replaced with laser weapons. The story also focused more on science fiction. In this cartoon, RoboCop had a red light in the middle of his visor. The animation for the series was done by AKOM Productions.

What the Show Is About
This series follows the story of Alex Murphy, a police officer who became a cyborg. He fights to protect the city of Old Detroit from bad guys. Sometimes, he also tries to remember his human side. He wants to prove his worth to "The Old Man," who is the boss of Omni Consumer Products (OCP).
Many times, RoboCop's good name is challenged by Dr. McNamara. Dr. McNamara created ED-260, which is an upgraded robot that competes with RoboCop for OCP's money. Dr. McNamara often creates other dangerous robots that threaten RoboCop and the city.
RoboCop's police partner is Officer Anne Lewis. She is a good friend to him. However, Lieutenant Roger Hedgecock, a prejudiced officer, often picks on RoboCop. He wants to get rid of RoboCop and other cyborgs. In one episode, "The Man in the Iron Suit," Hedgecock almost defeats RoboCop using a new weapon system from McNamara. He even tries to hurt Lewis, which makes RoboCop very angry.
Dr. Tyler, who manages the RoboCop Project, helps maintain RoboCop. The show's opening scene briefly shows how Alex Murphy became RoboCop. Throughout the series, RoboCop struggles with losing his human feelings. The show also explores themes like unfair treatment, environmental issues, and fighting terrorism.
Even though it's based on the movie, there are some big differences. RoboCop is faster and can move more easily in the cartoon. Old Detroit in the series is also more high-tech, with lasers and many robots. Dr. Tyler, not Bob Morton, is the one who created the RoboCop Program in this show. Also, Clarence Boddicker and his gang, who were responsible for Alex Murphy's death in the movie, are still around and fight RoboCop again in the episode "Menace of the Mind."
