Rocco Romano (born January 23, 1963) is a famous former Canadian football player. He played for 14 seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), which is a long time! Ten of those seasons were with the Calgary Stampeders. He was known as a fantastic offensive lineman and was chosen as an All-Star five times. While playing for the Stampeders, he helped his team win two Grey Cup championships, one in 1992 and another in 1998.

Rocco Romano's Football Journey
Rocco Romano was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He went to St. Ann's Catholic elementary school and then Cathedral High School in Hamilton. After high school, he continued his education and played football at Concordia University in Montreal.
Becoming a CFL Star
Rocco Romano was drafted into the CFL in 1987 by the Calgary Stampeders. He was the 5th player picked in the first round! An offensive lineman is a very important player on a football team. Their job is to block defenders and protect their quarterback, helping the team score points.

Winning the Grey Cup
The Grey Cup is the championship trophy of the Canadian Football League, similar to the Super Bowl in the NFL. Rocco Romano was lucky enough to win the Grey Cup twice with the Calgary Stampeders!
- In 1992, the Stampeders won the 80th Grey Cup.
- In 1998, they won again, taking home the 86th Grey Cup.

Awards and Recognition
Rocco Romano was recognized many times for being an outstanding player.
- He was a five-time CFL All-Star, meaning he was considered one of the best players in the entire league in 1992, 1994, 1995, and 1996.
- He also won the DeMarco-Becket Memorial Trophy twice, in 1994 and 1996. This award is given to the best offensive lineman in the CFL's West Division.
In 2007, Rocco Romano was honored by being inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. This is a very special achievement that celebrates players who have made a huge impact on Canadian football.
Life After Football
After a long and successful career, Rocco Romano retired from playing professional football. He is remembered as one of the top offensive linemen in CFL history. He married Shauna Sky and they raised two children together.
