Rockville is a small town in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. It was founded a long time ago, in 1784. In 2020, about 141 people lived there. Rockville is part of a larger area known as the Charleston-North Charleston-Summerville metropolitan area.

Rockville has several important historical places. These include the Hanckel Mound, Horse Island, and the Rockville Historic District. The John Seabrook Plantation Bridge is also a notable historical spot. Where is Rockville Located?

Rockville is found on Wadmalaw Island in the southwestern part of Charleston County. It's at the very end of South Carolina Highway 700. The town sits on the north bank of Bohicket Creek, which is a tidal creek connected to the North Edisto River.

If you look across Bohicket Creek to the south, you'll find the town of Seabrook Island. Highway 700 goes northeast from Rockville. It's about 11 miles (18 km) to Johns Island and 22 miles (35 km) to the city of Charleston.

The town covers a total area of about 0.51 square miles (1.3 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 0.42 square miles (1.1 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometers), is water.
