Roderick Johnson (born November 28, 1995) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle, a position that helps protect the quarterback. Roderick played college football for the Florida State Seminoles. He was chosen by the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early Life and High School Football
Roderick Johnson grew up in Florissant, Missouri. He went to Hazelwood Central High School. There, he played high school football and was a star player. Experts thought he was one of the best offensive tackles in his age group. He decided to play college football at Florida State University.
College Football Career
Roderick started his college career at Florida State in 2014. He began as a backup player. However, he quickly became a starter for the last five games of the season. In 2015, during his second year, he started every game. He played as the left tackle for Florida State. That year, he won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy. This award goes to the best blocker in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). He was also named a First-team All-American in 2016.

Time with the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns picked Roderick Johnson in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was the 160th player chosen overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team in May 2017. Unfortunately, he was placed on the injured reserve list in September 2017. This meant he couldn't play that season. The Browns later released him in June 2018. He did not play in any games for them.
Playing for the Houston Texans
After leaving the Browns, the Houston Texans picked up Roderick in June 2018. He was first on their practice squad. This is a group of players who train with the team but don't always play in games. He was moved to the main roster and back to the practice squad a few times. In 2019, Roderick played in all 16 games for the Texans. He started three of those games.
