Rodney Norvell Stuckey (born April 21, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for the Detroit Pistons for seven seasons. Later, he played for the Indiana Pacers for three seasons. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball at Eastern Washington University.

Rodney Stuckey: A Basketball Journey
Growing Up and High School Basketball
Rodney Stuckey was born in Seattle. He grew up in a nearby town called Kent. He went to Kentwood High School in Covington, Washington. There, he helped his team, the Conquerors, win a big state championship in 2004.
College Basketball Star
Stuckey played college basketball at Eastern Washington University. In his second year, he was one of the best players in the country. He scored 24.6 points per game, which was 7th highest in the nation. He also had 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game.
He scored 36 points in one game against Portland State. He had nine games where he scored 30 points or more. He also had three games where he made 10 or more assists. In one game against Idaho, he had a career-high 7 steals.
In just two seasons, Rodney scored 1,438 points. He also made 98 three-point shots. He collected 279 rebounds, gave 283 assists, and had 145 steals. His jersey number 3 was retired by Eastern Washington University on January 11, 2009. This means no other player will wear that number for the team.
Playing in the NBA: Detroit Pistons
On June 28, 2007, Rodney Stuckey was picked 15th overall in the 2007 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons. He started strong in the summer league games. He averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3 assists per game before the regular season. However, he broke his hand in the last pre-season game.
He had surgery on his left hand and was expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks. He was allowed to practice and play again on December 20. He made his first professional game on December 21, 2007, against the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored 11 points in just 6 minutes off the bench.
On May 13, 2008, Stuckey was chosen for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. This is a special honor for new players. During the 2008 NBA Playoffs, a famous player named Paul Pierce said Stuckey caused problems for his team. He said Stuckey was the "X factor" in one game. That night, Stuckey scored 13 points in 17 minutes. He helped the Pistons win game 2 in Boston.
On December 23, 2008, Stuckey scored a career-high 40 points. This helped his team win against the Chicago Bulls. He also scored 38 points in a win against the Sacramento Kings. In 2009, he played in the Rookie Challenge game during the NBA All-Star weekend.
On December 13, 2009, Stuckey was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This was the second time he received this award in his career.
Playing in the NBA: Indiana Pacers
On July 21, 2014, Stuckey signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers. On March 10, 2015, he scored his season-high of 34 points against the Orlando Magic.
He signed again with the Pacers on July 21, 2015. This was a three-year contract worth $21 million. Stuckey missed a lot of games in January and February of the 2015–16 season. This was because of a bone bruise in his right foot.
On March 28, 2017, it was announced that Stuckey would be out for four to six weeks. He had a strain in his left patellar tendon. The Pacers then let him go from the team the next day.

In May 2014, Rodney Stuckey got engaged to Cassandra Ferguson. She was a contestant on the 18th season of the TV show The Bachelor. Rodney and Cassandra have a son named Trey.
