Rodolpho Barteczko (born 12 November 1910), often known as Patesko, was a famous Brazilian football player. He played as a Striker, which means he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals. Patesko was a key player for several clubs in Brazil and Uruguay. He also proudly represented the Brazilian national team in major international tournaments.

Who Was Patesko?

Patesko was born in Curitiba, Brazil, on November 12, 1910. He grew up loving football, a sport that is very popular in Brazil. From a young age, he showed great talent for scoring goals. This skill helped him become one of the top players of his time.

Patesko's Club Career

Patesko started his professional football journey in 1930. His first club was Palestra Itália, which is now known as Palmeiras. He played there for two years, showing off his goal-scoring abilities.

After a short time with Força e Luz in 1932, Patesko moved to Uruguay. He joined Nacional, one of the biggest clubs in Uruguay. Playing for Nacional helped him gain more experience and become an even better player.

In 1934, Patesko returned to Brazil. He joined Botafogo, a well-known club in Rio de Janeiro. He spent a large part of his career at Botafogo, playing there until 1943. During his time at Botafogo, he was a very important player for the team.

Playing for the Brazilian National Team

Patesko's excellent performance at club level earned him a spot on the Brazilian national team. He played for Brazil from 1934 to 1942. Representing his country was a huge honor for him.

He was part of the Brazilian squad for two FIFA World Cup tournaments. These are the biggest football competitions in the world. Being chosen for the World Cup team showed how talented and important Patesko was to Brazilian football.

Patesko at the World Cups

Patesko played for Brazil in the 1934 FIFA World Cup held in Italy. This was Brazil's second time participating in the World Cup. Although Brazil did not win the tournament, Patesko gained valuable experience playing against top international teams.

He also represented Brazil in the 1938 FIFA World Cup in France. In this tournament, Brazil performed much better, reaching the semi-finals. Patesko contributed to the team's success with his skills as a striker. These World Cup appearances cemented his place in Brazilian football history.
