Roger Hollett, born on October 8, 1978, is a retired Canadian mixed martial artist. He used to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Light Heavyweight division. He was also a champion in the Maximum Fighting Championship.

About Roger Hollett
Roger was born and grew up in Fairview, Nova Scotia. His father, Ralph Hollett, was a former boxing and kickboxing champion. Roger learned these sports from his father as he grew up.
He trains at the Titans Gym in Halifax. Roger holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His teachers, Kevin Taylor and Peter Martell, are both experts in this martial art. He also trains with and is managed by Robert Walker, a Muay Thai instructor and champion.
Roger's Mixed Martial Arts Journey
Starting His Career
Roger Hollett had a tough start when he injured his left knee. This happened during a fight on October 20, 2007. He lost that match, which ended his winning streak of seven fights.
He made a great return to fighting on September 20, 2008. At an event called ECC 8: Comeback, he defeated Marcus Hicks. Roger won by TKO (Technical Knockout) very quickly in the first round.
After this win, Roger fought for the Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) title. On December 5, 2008, he faced Emanuel Newton for the vacant Light Heavyweight Championship. Newton won the fight by a unanimous decision. This was the first time Roger's fight went to the judges' decision.
Roger then lost his second fight in a row. On February 20, 2009, he was defeated by UFC veteran David Heath. Roger lost by submission in the first round.
He bounced back on September 26, 2009, at ECC 10: Demolition. Roger won against Chris Peak in the first round. He used a move called a kimura, ending his two-fight losing streak.
Roger's next fight was on November 6, 2009, in Edmonton, Alberta. He defeated Aron Lofton using an armbar in the first round.
After another injury, Roger returned to the cage on October 23, 2010. He fought Mychal Clark in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Roger won this fight by a unanimous decision.
In January 2011, Roger was set to fight Steve Bossé. However, Bossé got injured and couldn't fight. Martin Desilets stepped in as a replacement. Roger defeated Desilets by TKO in the second round.
Roger was supposed to fight Jeremy Horn on April 27, 2012. But the fight was canceled because Roger did not pass his medical tests.
Fighting in Bellator
Roger then fought John Hawk at Bellator 57. He won by a split decision. This win earned him a spot in a special tournament. However, due to an injury, he could not compete. He was then released from Bellator.
His Time in the UFC
On August 3, 2012, it was announced that Roger had signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
He was scheduled to make his UFC debut against Matt Hamill on September 22, 2012. This fight was at UFC 152 in Toronto, Ontario. Roger had to pull out due to a contract issue with Bellator. But then, Hamill's new opponent also got injured. So, Roger ended up fighting Hamill after all. Roger lost this fight by a unanimous decision.
Roger was supposed to fight Wagner Prado on January 19, 2013. But Roger had to withdraw because of a torn bicep.
His second UFC fight was against Fábio Maldonado on May 18, 2013. He lost this fight by a unanimous decision. After this match, Roger was released from the UFC.
