Roger Lake is a beautiful mountain pond found high up in the Eagle Cap Wilderness of Northeastern Oregon, United States. It's also sometimes called Rogers Lake or Rogers Pond. This peaceful pond sits in a lovely meadow on Aneroid Mountain.

Roger Lake is quite high up, at an elevation of 7,360 ft (2,240 m). It is only about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) away from Aneroid Lake if you follow trail 1804. This makes Roger Lake one of the highest lakes in the entire Eagle Cap Wilderness!

Roger Lake is a special place located in the huge Eagle Cap Wilderness. This wilderness area is known for its tall mountains, clear lakes, and amazing views. Roger Lake itself is a pond, which is like a small lake. It's nestled in a quiet meadow, surrounded by nature.

The pond is not very deep. Its average depth is about 30 feet (9 m). At its deepest point, Roger Lake goes down to 46 feet (14 m). It's a great spot for enjoying the outdoors and seeing wildlife.

Getting There: The Trail

You can reach Roger Lake by hiking on a trail. There are two main ways to start your journey. One way is from the East Fork Wallowa River Trailhead. This trailhead is located near Wallowa Lake. The other option is the Tenderfoot Trailhead.

The East Fork Wallowa River Trailhead offers a shorter hike to Roger Lake. This path is about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long. As you hike, you'll pass a small dam after about 2 miles (3 km). Further along, at 3.8 miles (6.1 km), you'll find a well-built bridge.

The trail to Roger Lake is usually kept in very good condition. This makes the hike easier and more enjoyable. During the summer months, many people like to visit Roger Lake. Because of this, the trail can sometimes be quite busy.
