The Rogue Valley Mall is a large shopping center in Medford, Oregon. It is the biggest indoor mall between Eugene, Oregon and Sacramento, California. The mall is named after the beautiful Rogue Valley area in southwestern Oregon. You can find it right next to a Target store and Interstate 5.
This mall has over one hundred different stores. Some popular ones include Chico's, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Bath and Body Works. It also has several "anchor stores." These are big, main stores that help attract shoppers to the mall.
Exploring Rogue Valley Mall
The Rogue Valley Mall is a great place to shop and hang out. It has two floors filled with stores. The total area of the mall is about 640,000 square feet. That's a lot of space for shopping!
Main Stores and Food
The main anchor stores at the mall are Kohl's, JCPenney, and Macy's. There are actually two Macy's sections: one for home goods called Macy's Home, and another called Macy's Backstage. You can also find Bed Bath & Beyond here.
If you get hungry, the mall has a food court. It has ten different places where you can grab a bite to eat.
Mall History

The Rogue Valley Mall first opened its doors in 1986. When it was new, some of its first big anchor stores were Mervyn's, Montgomery Wards, JCPenney, and Meier & Frank.
Over the years, some of these stores changed. In 2001, Montgomery Wards closed down. Meier & Frank Home Store took over the lower level of that space. Later, Meier & Frank stores became part of Macy's. So, the Meier & Frank store became Macy's, and the home store became Macy's Home.
Another store, Mervyn's, left Oregon in 2007. Kohl's then moved into that empty space. This meant that JCPenney became the only original anchor store still open from when the mall first started.
A store called Linens-N-Things used to be in the mall. It closed in 2008, and then Bed Bath & Beyond moved into that spot.
Interestingly, the Rogue Valley Mall is home to one of the last two remaining Sam Goody music stores in the entire world!
In 2016, Sports Authority, another store in the mall, closed all its locations. The space it left empty was later filled by Macy's Backstage in 2019.
