Roman Kłosowski (born February 14, 1929 – died June 11, 2018) was a famous Polish actor and theater director. He was known for playing many different kinds of characters in movies and on stage.

Life and Career
Early Life and Training
Roman Kłosowski was born on February 14, 1929, in Biała Podlaska, Poland. He studied acting and directing at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. He finished his acting studies in 1953 and his directing studies in 1965.
First Steps in Acting
Kłosowski started his theater career on September 1, 1953. His very first role on stage was Puck in Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. That same year, he also made his first movie appearance. He starred in the film Celuloza, directed by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

Roman Kłosowski acted in many films and TV series throughout his career.
- In 1956, he worked with Jerzy Kawalerowicz again in the movie Shadow.
- In 1964, he appeared in The First Day of Freedom, a film by Aleksander Ford. He acted alongside other well-known Polish actors like Tadeusz Łomnicki and Beata Tyszkiewicz.
- In the late 1960s, he was part of the popular World War II TV series Czterej pancerni i pies.
- In 1971, he played the Maharaja of Kabur in the Polish superhero comedy film Hydrozagadka. This movie was directed by Andrzej Kondratiuk.
- From 1974 to 1976, he starred in the successful TV comedy series Czterdziestolatek. This show was very popular in Poland.
Director and Teacher
Besides acting, Roman Kłosowski was also a director. From 1976 to 1981, he was the main director of the Powszechny Theater in Łódź. He also taught acting at the Łódź Film School.
Later Career
Kłosowski continued to act in many projects:
- In 1986, he worked with Andrzej Kondratiuk again in the comedy-sci-fi TV series Big Bang. He played the character of Shepherd Kazimierz.
- In 1989, he starred as Edward in Andrzej Barański's film The Peddler. He worked with Barański again in 1996 for the film Dzień wielkiej ryby.
- In the 1990s, he was part of the Polish sitcom Świat według Kiepskich.
- In 2008, he played Nostradamus in the comedy-drama film Before Twilight (Jeszcze nie wieczór).
Final Years
Roman Kłosowski passed away on June 11, 2018, in Łódź. He was buried on June 18, 2018, at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw.
