Romance is a small place in Jackson County, West Virginia, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
The Story Behind the Name
This community got its unique name from a person! It was named after a man called Romance Parsons. He was one of the first people to settle and live in this area a long time ago.
Past and Present
Romance used to have its own post office. This post office had a special ZIP code of 25175. However, it closed down on February 18, 1986. Even though the post office is gone, the area is still known as Romance. The land between two places called Middle Fork and Advent is also considered part of the Romance community.
