Rome, also known as Stout, is a small village in Green Township, Adams County, Ohio, United States. It is located right along the Ohio River. In 2020, about 83 people lived there.
Village History
Rome was first planned out in 1835 by a person named William Stout. Local stories say the village was named after the famous city of Rome, Italy.
Even though its official name is Rome, many people call it "Stout." The local post office is even named "Stout," not "Rome." The Stout post office has been open since 1893.
