Romina Sarina Oprandi (born on March 29, 1986) is a retired professional tennis player. She has citizenship in both Switzerland and Italy. Romina played for Italy from 2005 until 2012, when she started representing Switzerland.
During her career, she won 26 singles titles and 11 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. She also won one doubles title on the main WTA Tour. Her highest singles ranking was world No. 32, which she reached on June 10, 2013. Romina retired from professional tennis in 2020.

Early Life and Training
Romina Oprandi was born in Jegenstorf, Switzerland. Her parents are Roberto and Romy Oprandi. She was coached by her brother, Romeo Oprandi. Romina's favorite tennis surface to play on is clay.
Playing Style
Romina was known for being a strong baseliner. This means she liked to play from the back of the court. She was especially good at hitting "drop shots," which are soft shots that land just over the net, making them hard for opponents to reach.

Starting Her Career (2005–2006)
Romina first gained attention in 2006. She reached the quarterfinals of a big tournament in Rome. She had to play through qualifying rounds to get there. She eventually lost to Svetlana Kuznetsova in a very close match. Later that year, she won an ITF singles title in Denain, France.
Challenges and Comeback (2007–2009)
In 2007, Romina played in several major tournaments, including the Australian Open and the French Open. However, she had to stop playing for a long time because of a right forearm injury. She did not play for the rest of 2007 and the first half of 2008.
She returned to tennis in August 2008. She won an ITF tournament in Germany and reached a final in Italy. In 2009, she played her first WTA Tour event in over 18 months in Bogotá, Colombia. She also won a doubles title in Germany with her partner Sandra Martinović.
Key Achievements (2012–2014)
On August 12, 2012, Romina won the Bronx Open singles title in New York. She defeated Anna Chakvetadze in a tough three-set match.
In 2013, she reached the semifinals of two WTA Tour events. These were in Oeiras, Portugal, and Brussels, Belgium. After these successes, she faced another challenge: a shoulder injury. This injury kept her from playing for eight months.
Romina made a strong return in April 2014. She reached her first WTA Tour final at the Marrakech Grand Prix. She beat the top player, Daniela Hantuchová, in the semifinals. Although she lost the final match, she won her first WTA Tour doubles title on the same day. She partnered with Garbiñe Muguruza to win the doubles championship.
