Ronald "Ron" Henry Lee (born November 2, 1952) is a former American professional basketball player. He played for six seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Ron Lee was known for his energetic and determined style of play.

He played college basketball for the University of Oregon from 1972 to 1976. During his time there, he was part of the "Kamikaze Kids" team. This nickname described players who showed great effort and a strong desire to win every game.

In 1976, the Phoenix Suns picked Ron Lee as the tenth player in the 1976 NBA draft. Interestingly, even though he didn't play football in college, the NFL's San Diego Chargers also chose him in their 1976 draft! In the NBA, Ron Lee was named to the 1977 NBA All-Rookie Team. The next season, he led the entire NBA in steals.

College Basketball Star

Ron Lee is still the all-time leading scorer for the University of Oregon basketball team. He scored an amazing 2,085 points during his four years there. He also ranks second in career assists with 572. He is first in field goals made (838) and fifth in free throws made (409).

He was chosen for the first-team All-Pac-8 in all four seasons he played for the Ducks. He also appeared on many All-American lists in his last three seasons. In 1998, Ron Lee was honored by being inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame.

After his NBA career, Ron Lee played basketball in Italy for three years.

Ron Lee's Family of Athletes

Ron Lee comes from a family of talented basketball players. His older brother, Russ Lee, was also a great college player at Marshall University. Russ was even picked sixth overall in the 1972 NBA draft.
