Ronn McMahon (born May 29, 1965) is a former professional basketball player. He was a talented point guard who played for the Canadian national men's basketball team. Even though he played for Canada, Ronn was born in Provo, Utah, in the United States.

Ronn McMahon's College Basketball Career

Becoming a Steals Leader

Ronn McMahon played college basketball at Eastern Washington University. He was known for his amazing ability to steal the ball from opponents. By the end of his college career, he was the second-best player in his school's history for steals. He averaged 3.52 steals per game. Over three years, he made 225 steals! Only one other player, Mookie Blaylock, had a higher average.

Setting a School Record

On December 15, 1988, Ronn McMahon set a new school record. In a game against Portland State, he made nine steals. This is still the most steals by any player in a single game for Eastern Washington University. His excellent play earned him a spot on the Big Sky all-conference first-team for the 1989–90 season.

Playing for Team Canada

Ronn McMahon was a key player for the Canadian national men's basketball team. He was the starting point guard for Canada in two big international tournaments.

International Tournaments

He played in the 1994 FIBA World Championship. In this tournament, the Canadian team finished in 7th place. Ronn also played in the 1992 FIBA Tournament of the Americas. Canada finished 5th in that competition. These tournaments are very important for national basketball teams around the world.
