José Vítor Roque Júnior (born August 31, 1976), known as Roque Júnior, is a Brazilian football expert and former player. He played as a defender.
Roque Júnior played 48 games for the Brazilian national team. He was part of the team that won the 2002 World Cup. He is one of only five players to have won the Copa Libertadores, the Champions League, and the World Cup. The other players are Ronaldinho, Cafu, Dida, and Julián Álvarez.

Playing for Clubs
Roque Júnior was born in Santa Rita do Sapucaí, Brazil. During his career, he played for several football clubs. These included Santarritense, São José, and Palmeiras in Brazil.
He also played for famous European clubs like AC Milan in Italy. Later, he played for Leeds United in England, Siena in Italy, and Bayer Leverkusen and MSV Duisburg in Germany. He also played for Al-Rayyan in Qatar.
Success with Palmeiras and Milan
Roque Júnior is a very important player for Palmeiras. He played over 200 games for them. His biggest club successes were with Palmeiras, where he won the 1999 Copa Libertadores (a major South American club competition).
He also had great success with AC Milan. He helped them win the 2002–03 UEFA Champions League, which is Europe's top club competition. In the Champions League final, he played with a serious injury. He showed great courage by continuing to play for most of the extra time.
Time at Leeds United
When Roque Júnior joined Leeds United on loan, fans were excited. However, his time there was difficult. The team let in many goals during his seven games. They did not win any matches and lost six. He was even sent off (given a red card) in his first home game.
He did score two goals in a League Cup game against Manchester United. But Leeds lost that game 3–2. Overall, his time at Leeds was not seen as successful.
Later Career
In 2008, Roque Júnior returned to Palmeiras on loan from Al-Rayyan. After leaving Palmeiras in November 2008, he looked for new clubs. In February 2010, he signed with Ituano in Brazil. This was his last club before he stopped playing professionally.
Playing for Brazil
Roque Júnior was very successful playing for the Brazilian national team. He played 48 games and scored two goals. He also led the team as captain many times.
He was a key player in Brazil's team that won the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He played in the defense alongside other great players like Lúcio and Edmílson. He was also chosen for the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup. However, he could not play in the 2006 FIFA World Cup because of an injury. He played his last international game in 2005. He announced his retirement from international football on September 4, 2007.
Life Outside Football
Roque Júnior cares about helping young football players. He has a project called "Projeto Primeira Camisa" ("Project First Jersey"). This project helps young players at São José Esporte Clube.
He was also a popular TV host. He hosted a show called Total Request Live on Brazil MTV (BMTV) for 10 years, from 2005 to 2015.
Becoming a Manager
After his playing career, Roque Júnior became a football manager. In 2015, he took his first job as a manager at XV de Piracicaba. He later managed Ituano in 2017.
