What's in a Name?
Many people believe Rosales got its name from the word rosal, which is a type of flower. This flower used to grow in large numbers in the area. However, old Spanish records show that Rosales was named after Don Antonio Rosales Liberal. He was a very honest, hardworking, and smart man. He was also an important official in Manila at that time.
A Look Back at History
Rosales became its own separate town in 1852. This happened because of a special order from the King of Spain.
