Famous People from Rose Bud

Nick Bacon was born in Caraway, Arkansas, in 1945. He joined the army when he was just 17 years old. He served in the war and later trained new soldiers. After his time in the military, he became the director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, helping other veterans for more than ten years. Nick Bacon lived in Rose Bud until he passed away in 2010 at the age of 64.

The Darden-Gifford House

The Darden-Gifford House is an old house in Rose Bud that some people believe is haunted! It was built in the late 1800s by J.W. Darden. After he died, his wife lived there for a few more years before selling it.

In 1976, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's an important building because of its history. Later, a woman named Priscilla Stone lived there and reported many strange things happening. She heard doors slamming, saw curtains fall, and heard footsteps on empty stairs. People have even done investigations to try and understand these mysterious events.
