Rotten Ralph is a popular series of children's picture books. These books were written by Jack Gantos and illustrated by Nicole Rubel. Around twenty Rotten Ralph books were published between 1976 and 2011.
The very first book in the series, also called Rotten Ralph, came out in 1976. It was a 32-page picture book. This book was the first one ever published for both Jack Gantos and Nicole Rubel.
The main character of the series is Rotten Ralph himself. He's a bright red domestic cat who loves to play mean practical jokes on his human family. He's known for being very, very naughty!
A children's television series based on the books was also made. It was created by Cosgrove Hall Films, Tooncan Productions, and Italtoons Corporation. The show first aired in the UK on CBBC from 1998 to 2001. It also showed on Nickelodeon in the UK around 2000. In the United States, the show was broadcast on the Family Channel from 1999 to 2001.
