Jaclyn Michelle Linetsky (January 8, 1986 – September 8, 2003) was a talented Canadian actress. She was well-known for her voice work, especially as the main character, Caillou, in the popular animated TV show. She also played Megan O'Connor in the live-action series 15/Love. Jaclyn passed away at the age of 17.

Early Life and Education

Jaclyn Michelle Linetsky was born on January 8, 1986, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her parents were Terry and Larry Linetsky. She was the youngest of three children, with two older siblings named Kelly and Derek. Her family had Russian-Jewish roots.

Jaclyn grew up in Dollard-des-Ormeaux before moving to Hampstead, a suburb of Montreal. She attended St. George's School of Montreal and graduated in 2003. She even gave a speech at her graduation ceremony.

Her Acting Career

Jaclyn started acting when she was only eight years old. Her first roles were in theatre plays. When she was 10, she got her first big job, which was a voice-over for a milk radio advertisement.

Voice Acting Roles

Jaclyn became the voice of the main character in the animated series Caillou in 2000. She continued to voice Caillou until her passing in 2003. Before her, Bryn McAuley voiced Caillou in the first season. After Jaclyn's death, Annie Bovaird took over the role.

Jaclyn also lent her voice to many other animated shows. Some of her other voice roles included:

She also did voices for shows like The Kids from Room 402, Wunschpunsch, The Country Mouse and the City Mouse Adventures, Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings, and Jim Button. Jaclyn also voiced characters in video games, including Alex Builds His Farm and Evolution Worlds.

Live-Action TV Show

In 2003, Jaclyn was cast in a new TV show called 15/Love. This show was about the world of tennis. She played the character Megan O'Connor. Her character was developing a romantic storyline with another character, Sebastien Dubé, played by her co-star Vadim Schneider.

A Sad Loss

On September 8, 2003, Jaclyn Linetsky and Vadim Schneider were traveling to the set of 15/Love. They were involved in a car accident. Both Jaclyn and Vadim, who were 17 years old, tragically passed away.

After this sad event, filming for 15/Love was stopped for two weeks. The show's writers decided to write their characters, Megan O'Connor and Sebastien Dubé, out of the story. In the show, their characters were said to have died in a plane crash.

Following Jaclyn's passing, other voice actors took over her roles. Eleanor Noble became the voice of Lori Mackney in What's with Andy?, and Annie Bovaird continued as the voice of Caillou.

Stuart Snyder, who was the President and CEO of Cinar Corporation (now Cookie Jar Group), shared a statement. He said that Jaclyn's voice brought joy to many children and that she was a very talented performer who would be greatly missed.
