Different Models of the Rover 600 Series
The Rover 600 Series came in several different versions. Each version had a slightly different engine or features. Here are some of the main models:
Models with Petrol Engines
Many Rover 600 cars used petrol (gasoline) as fuel. These engines came in different sizes and power levels.
Standard Petrol Engines
- 618, 618i, 618Si: These models had a 1.8-liter petrol engine. It was a "naturally-aspirated" engine, meaning it didn't use a special turbocharger to boost power. It produced about 85 kilowatts (kW) of power.
- 620i: This model used a 2.0-liter petrol engine. It also produced 85 kW of power.
- 620Si, 620GSi: These versions also had a 2.0-liter petrol engine. However, they were a bit more powerful, making 96 kW.
- 623Si, 623GSi: These were some of the most powerful petrol models. They had a 2.3-liter engine that produced 116 kW.
Turbocharged Petrol Engine
- 620ti: This was the sportiest petrol model. It had a 2.0-liter engine that was "turbocharged." A turbocharger is like a special fan that pushes more air into the engine, making it much more powerful. This model produced a strong 147 kW of power.
Models with Diesel Engines
Some Rover 600 cars used diesel fuel instead of petrol. Diesel engines are often known for being good on fuel and having lots of pulling power.
- 620Di, 620SDi: These models had a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Like the 620ti petrol model, these diesel engines were also turbocharged. They produced 77 kW of power.
