Rubén Cortada was born in Isla de la Juventud, Cuba, on October 6, 1984. His father was an engineer who worked with water systems, and his mother was a scientist who studied tiny living things like bacteria.
Discovering Acting
Rubén went to a special boarding school in Havana called La Lenin. This school was known for its strong academics. He credits his literature teacher there for inspiring him to become an actor. He first acted in two plays in Cuba. Later, he trained with a famous acting coach named Fernando Piernas.
