Rudolph Moshammer (born September 27, 1940 – died January 14, 2005) was a famous German fashion designer. He was known for his very fancy clothes. He also wore these unique clothes himself. He was a well-known person among celebrities in Germany.

Moshammer was sadly murdered in 2005. This happened in Grünwald, a suburb near Munich, Germany.

Moshammer's Career

Rudolph Moshammer was born in Munich. He learned about how to work in the retail business. He started designing clothes in the 1960s.

His main business was his special shop called "Carnaval de Venise". It was located on Maximilianstraße in Munich. This street is famous for its expensive shops. In his shop, he made fancy clothes for rich men. He used materials like fur, cashmere, and silk.

This way, he became popular with important people in Munich and Germany. Many famous people from around the world were his clients. These included Arnold Schwarzenegger and King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. He also designed for José Carreras and Thomas Gottschalk.

Rudolph inherited the shop from his mother, Else Moshammer. He had a very close bond with her. They often appeared in public together. His mother passed away in 1993.

Moshammer was a very unique and colorful person. He was famous for always carrying his little Yorkshire Terrier dog, Daisy. He even wrote a book about her!

He cared a lot about helping people who were homeless. For his efforts, he received an award called "Martin's Coat 2000". This award was from a radio station named "Sankt Michaelsbund".

Moshammer also appeared in some TV shows. He was in the German crime series Tatort.

He worked with a music group called "Münchner Zwietracht". Together, they took part in the German Eurovision Song Contest tryouts in 2001. Their song was called "Teilt Freud und Leid". This means "Share Happiness and Sorrow".

In 2002, Moshammer sold a shirt at an auction. People believed the shirt was worn by Napoleon I. It was supposedly worn at the Battle of Waterloo. The shirt sold for over €62,000 (about US$81,200). He gave all the money to a charity in Munich that helps homeless people.

His Passing

On the morning of January 14, 2005, Rudolph Moshammer was found. His driver found him in his home in Grünwald. This area is south of Munich.

The police investigated what happened. They announced that a person was found responsible for his death. This person admitted to the crime.

Rudolph Moshammer's Legacy

Moshammer was one of Germany's most successful fashion designers. He was known alongside designers like Karl Lagerfeld.

He used his wealth to help homeless people. He had even started building a house for homeless people in Munich.

Daisy, His Beloved Dog

Daisy, whose real name was Irina de Pittacus, was Rudolph Moshammer's dog. She was born on September 20, 1993, and passed away on October 24, 2006. Moshammer once said he had owned four dogs named Daisy.

The Yorkshire terrier puppy was born in Jockgrim. Moshammer bought her when she was four months old. He then gave her the name "Daisy". Daisy became very famous. She was always with the designer, often with a ribbon on her head. She was seen a lot in German media.

Moshammer wrote a book about Daisy. He also created a website for her. Daisy even had her own line of dog grooming products. Moshammer also designed a collection of dog clothes. In 2005, she appeared briefly on the TV show Unter uns.

Daisy was likely the only "eyewitness" to Moshammer's murder. After his death, there were stories about his will. Some said he wanted Daisy to live in his villa forever. His driver, Andreas Kaplan, was supposed to care for her.

Daisy was eventually cared for by Andreas Kaplan. He had looked after her before. Daisy passed away in Munich when she was thirteen years old. She was cremated, and her ashes were kept by Kaplan.
