Geography and Location
Rutherford is found in the western part of Tennessee. Its exact spot is 36°07′32″N 88°59′24″W / 36.125689°N 88.990051°W.
The town covers a total area of about 2.3 square miles (6.0 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a very small part is water. The current mayor of Rutherford is Sandy Simpson, who took office in 2020.

Attractions and Local History
Rutherford is famous for being the "Last Home of Davy Crockett". You can visit a rebuilt log cabin that belonged to Crockett in downtown Rutherford. His mother's grave is also there.
Every year, Rutherford hosts a special event called "Davy Crockett Days." This community festival celebrates the town's connection to the famous frontiersman. Famous people, like Fess Parker (who played Davy Crockett in a 1954 TV show), have been part of the parade.
