Ryan Jimmo (born November 27, 1981 – died June 26, 2016) was a Canadian mixed martial artist. He competed in the light heavyweight division. Ryan was known for fighting in the UFC. He also fought in Canada and was a champion in the Maximum Fighting Championship.

Early Life and Background
Ryan Jimmo grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the youngest of four children. Ryan started learning karate at a very young age. His father, a high-ranking black belt, taught him.
Ryan's father was a skilled karate competitor. He even placed fifth in the world in his style. Ryan began competing himself when he was just 10 years old. He won many local and national championships.
Before he found mixed martial arts, Ryan was busy in high school. At St. Malachy's Memorial High School, he was the captain of the football team. He was also the president of the chess club. In 2004, he broke his leg while doing karate. After that, he started bodybuilding as a hobby.
Ryan Jimmo's MMA Career
Ryan Jimmo had an exciting career in mixed martial arts. He fought in many different events. His journey included becoming a champion and competing in the biggest MMA organization.
Starting in Maximum Fighting Championship
Ryan Jimmo began his professional fighting career in the MFC. His first fight was at MFC 11. He won this fight by TKO, which means the referee stopped the fight.
He quickly built a strong record. Ryan won five fights in a row. Some wins were by TKO and some by submission. A submission means an opponent gives up. He trained hard at Power MMA and Fitness.
The Ultimate Fighter Journey
After winning many fights, Ryan tried out for The Ultimate Fighter. This is a TV show where fighters compete to join the UFC. Ryan was chosen for the eighth season.
His first fight on the show was tough. He lost by a close decision. Even though he was eliminated, UFC president Dana White noticed his skill. Ryan returned to local fights and won three more matches.
Becoming an MFC Champion

On February 25, 2011, Ryan Jimmo won the MFC Light Heavyweight Championship. He defeated Dwayne Lewis to become the champion. He successfully defended his title two times. This set a record for most title defenses in MFC history.
Fighting in the UFC
Ryan Jimmo finally made it to the UFC. His first UFC fight was on July 21, 2012, at UFC 149. He won this fight with a knockout in just seven seconds! This was one of the fastest knockouts ever in UFC history.
He faced James Te Huna next. Ryan started strong but lost the fight by decision. He then won against Igor Pokrajac at UFC 161.
