Sabrina Sojourner (born October 23, 1952) is an American politician. She served as the District of Columbia's Shadow Representative for the at-large district from January 1997 to 1999. She was the third person to hold this position. Sojourner is a member of the Democratic Party.
The "Shadow Representative" role is different from the regular non-voting delegate seat held by Eleanor Holmes Norton. The District of Columbia's government created the Shadow Representative position. This means the United States Congress does not officially recognize it. Sojourner was elected to this role in 1997 with a large majority of the votes.

Sabrina Sojourner's Political Work
Before becoming a Shadow Representative, Sabrina Sojourner worked for Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Sojourner also held important roles in the National Organization for Women. In this role, she worked as a lobbyist. A lobbyist tries to convince lawmakers to support certain ideas. Sojourner focused on issues important to women.
She also worked to support people affected by HIV/AIDS in the D.C. area. Sojourner's main job as the Shadow Representative was to talk to Congress. She wanted them to give the District of Columbia full federal representation. This means D.C. citizens would have the same voting rights in Congress as people in states. She used the Tennessee Plan as an example. This plan helped Tennessee become a state.
