Sabritas is a super popular Mexican company. It makes many yummy snacks. This company is owned by PepsiCo, a very big food and drink company. Sabritas is best known for making delicious potato chips!

Sabritas began in 1943. A person named Pedro Antonio Marcos Noriega started it. The first name of the company was Golosinas y Productos Selectos. It was located in Mexico City.
At first, Sabritas made potato chips, corn chips, and other snacks. They used bicycles to deliver their products! The name "Sabritas" comes from two Spanish words: Sabrosas and Fritas. This means "Tasty and Fried" in English.
In 1966, a big change happened. Another company called PepsiCo bought Sabritas. PepsiCo was formed when Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola Company joined together. After this, Sabritas started using modern ways to make snacks. They also began selling their products in many more stores.
Sabritas Today
Sabritas is the brand name for many Frito-Lay products in Mexico. These include popular snacks like Cheetos, Fritos, Doritos, and Ruffles. Sabritas also has its own line of potato chips.
Sometimes, Sabritas even sells special versions of its snacks in the United States. In Mexico, some bags of Sabritas snacks come with fun plastic toys called Tazos. These are like the POGS that were popular in the U.S. Sabritas also makes unique local snacks. Some of these are Crujitos, Poffets, Rancheritos, and Sabritones.
Sabritas sells most of the snacks in Mexico. It controls about 80% of the snack market there. The company's main competitor is Grupo Bimbo's Barcel. Barcel sells about 12% of the snacks in Mexico.
Sonric's and Alegro Internacional
In 1982, Sabritas created a new brand called Sonric's. This was a way to make and sell candies. Sonric's became very popular with kids.
The Sonric's brand is famous for its mascot. This mascot is a friendly wizard known as El Maguito Sonrics.
Sonric's became so successful that it grew very big. It started making other products like drink mixes and flavored water. These new products did not fit well with candies. So, PepsiCo created a new part of their company. It was called Alegro Internacional. This new division was made to handle all these different products.
