Former Pupils Old Sackvillians

Sackville School is a school in East Grinstead, England. It's for both boys and girls, teaching students from age 11 to 18. In 2020, about 1670 students went to Sackville School. It's one of two main schools in the town. The other is Imberhorne School. The headteacher, who leads the school, is Jo Meloni.

School History and Growth

Sackville School started a long time ago in 1859. It was first a church school. It was first on De la Warr Road. In 1951, it got the name Sackville. Then, in 1964, it moved to its current spot on Lewes Road.

Changes Over the Years

In 1970, the school welcomed all students, not just some. This happened as more homes were built nearby. In 2004, its name changed back to Sackville School from Sackville Community College. The school's symbol is a red rose. This rose is linked to the Duchy of Lancaster. East Grinstead used to be part of this area.

New Buildings and Leadership

A new building was added in 2007. It has a big sports hall and a gym. It also has offices and four classrooms. The current headteacher, Jo Meloni, joined the school in 2022. The school has seven year groups. This includes a special section called the Sixth Form for older students.

School Inspections

The school was last checked by Ofsted in 2024. Ofsted is a group that inspects schools in England. The inspection lasted two days. It confirmed the school's "good" rating from 2019.
