Imberhorne School is a large comprehensive school in East Grinstead, West Sussex, England. It welcomes students aged 11 to 18. The school has about 1,690 students. This includes older students who are part of the Sixth Form. Imberhorne School is split across two main locations.
Mr. Matthew Whatford is the headteacher of the school. In 2004, Imberhorne School received special awards. These were the Artsmark Silver and Sportsmark awards. They recognized the school's excellent programs in arts and sports. Students at Imberhorne often achieve very good results. The school is known for being one of the top 10 schools in West Sussex. In 2008, 69% of students achieved high grades in their GCSE exams. This was higher than the national average. The Sixth Form offers many different courses. School Locations and Facilities
Imberhorne School uses two different sites. These are often called the 'Lower' and 'Upper' schools.
Lower School Site
The Windmill Lane site is the 'Lower' school. It used to be a county grammar school. This site is home to students in Years 7, 8, and 9. These years are part of Key Stage 3 learning.
Upper School Site
The Imberhorne Lane site is the 'Upper' school. Students in Years 10 and 11 attend classes here. This site also hosts the Sixth Form students. The Upper school has the DiGasson Sports Facility. This modern building includes a drama and dance studio. It also has a sports center and changing rooms. There are sports classrooms and a medical center too. The DiGasson Sports Facility is used by the school. It is also used by other groups from the community.
