Sage Moonblood Stallone (born May 5, 1976 – died July 13, 2012) was an actor from the United States. He was the oldest son of famous actor Sylvester Stallone.
Early Life and Education
Sage Stallone was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents were Sasha Czack and actor Sylvester Stallone. He had a brother, Seargeoh "Seth" Stallone. He also had three half-sisters: Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. His aunt was Jackie Stallone, and his uncle was singer Frank Stallone. His stepmother was Jennifer Flavin.
Sage finished high school at Montclair College Preparatory School in Van Nuys, California, in 1993. After that, he studied filmmaking for one year. He went to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Acting and Filmmaking Career
When he was a child, Sage Stallone appeared on a TV show. It was called Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. His grandmother, Jackie Stallone, helped promote this show.
Sage started his acting career with his father, Sylvester Stallone. They were in the movie Rocky V (1990). This was the fifth film in the Rocky movie series. Sage played Robert Balboa Jr., who was the son of his father's character. He also acted with his father in the movie Daylight (1996).
In 1996, Sage Stallone started a company with film editor Bob Murawski. The company was called Grindhouse Releasing. It was based in Los Angeles. Their goal was to fix up and save old movies. These movies were often called "exploitation films."
In 2006, Sage did not act in the movie Rocky Balboa. This was because he was busy working on his own film. The movie was called Vic. It was the first movie he directed. He also wrote and produced Vic. This film won an award for "Best New Filmmaker" in 2006. It was given at the Boston Film Festival.
His last acting roles were in two films by Vincent Gallo. These movies were Promises Written in Water and The Agent. Both films were shown at big film festivals in 2010. These included the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. In the 2015 movie Creed, a picture of Sage as a child with his father is shown. The movie says his character, Robert Balboa Jr., moved to Vancouver.
Later Life and Passing
Sage Stallone was found to have passed away on July 13, 2012. He was at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles. An examination showed that he died from a heart condition. This condition was caused by blocked arteries. His funeral was held on July 21 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Los Angeles. He was buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.
