Sahuasiray is a very tall mountain in the Andes mountains of Peru. It is part of the Urubamba mountain range. This amazing peak stands about 5,818 meters (19,088 feet) high. It is one of the highest mountains in this area.
The name Sahuasiray might come from the Quechua language. It could mean "matrimony" or "to sew." Another name for the mountain is Ccolque Cruz. This name might mean "silver cross" in a mix of Aymara, Quechua, and Spanish.
Sahuasiray is located in the Cusco Region, specifically in the Calca Province. You can find it northwest of a town called Calca. It is also near other important places like Chicón and Canchacanchajasa.
