Saidy Janko, born on October 22, 1995, is a professional football player. He plays as a right-back for the Swiss club BSC Young Boys. Saidy was born in Switzerland. He played for Switzerland's youth teams. Later, he chose to play for the Gambia national team as an adult.
Janko started his football journey with FC Zürich. In 2013, he joined the famous English club Manchester United. After playing on loan for Bolton Wanderers, Janko moved to the Scottish club Celtic in 2015. He also played on loan for Barnsley before joining Saint-Étienne in France in 2017.

Starting at Manchester United
Saidy Janko began his football career at FC Zürich in Switzerland. He then joined Manchester United on the last day of the summer transfer window in 2013. He was one of only three players signed by manager David Moyes that summer.
In his first season, Janko was named the Reserve Player of the Year. This award showed how well he was playing. On August 26, 2014, he played his first game for the main team. This was a League Cup match against Milton Keynes Dons. He played the first half of the game. Manchester United lost the match 4–0.
Loan to Bolton Wanderers
On February 2, 2015, Janko joined Bolton Wanderers. This was a loan move for the rest of the season. Bolton Wanderers is a club in the Championship, which is England's second-highest league.
He played his first game for Bolton on February 10. It was a 3–1 league win against Fulham. Janko helped his team score a goal. He then scored a goal himself from 25 yards out.
Playing for Celtic

Playing for Real Valladolid
On October 1, 2020, Real Valladolid signed Janko. This Spanish club signed him on a four-year contract. He made his first appearance in La Liga, Spain's top league, 24 days later. It was a 2–0 home loss to Deportivo Alavés.
Loan to VfL Bochum
On June 27, 2022, VfL Bochum announced that Janko would join them. This was a loan for one season. Bochum is a club in Germany's Bundesliga.
Returning to Young Boys
On June 30, 2023, Real Valladolid announced that Janko had joined Swiss side Young Boys permanently. He had played for Young Boys before on loan.

Saidy Janko was born in Zürich, Switzerland. His father is from Gambia, and his mother is from Italy. He played for Switzerland's youth teams from 2012 to 2015.
In 2021, he decided to play for the Gambia. He made his first game for Gambia on October 9, 2021. It was a friendly match against Sierra Leone.
He also played in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. This was the first time Gambia's national team played in this big tournament. They did very well and reached the quarter-finals.
