Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a special kind of city in France. It's known as a "new town" and an "agglomeration community." This means it's a group of towns that work together. It's located in the Yvelines area, which is a department in France.

This new town is one of five "villes nouvelles" (new towns) built around Paris. It got its name from the Saint Quentin Pond, which was chosen to be the center of the town. The city started being built in the 1960s on land that was mostly empty. It covers an area of about 119.2 square kilometers. In 2018, about 228,312 people lived there. Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is part of the bigger Paris metropolitan area and is about 25 kilometers west of the center of Paris.

  • Le Golf National is a famous golf course in Saint-Quentin. It was chosen to host the 2018 Ryder Cup, which is a very important golf tournament.

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a great place for sports!

  • It has a special track for cycling called the Vélodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. It was built between 2011 and 2014. This velodrome has hosted big events like the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and the 2016 UEC European Track Championships.
  • Right next to the velodrome, there is also a track for BMX biking.
  • From 1991 to 2015, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines was the start and finish point for the Paris-Brest-Paris cycling event. This is a very long bike ride that tests how much endurance cyclists have.
