Salcea is a town located in the northeastern part of Romania. It is found in Suceava County, within the Western Moldavia region. Salcea became an official town in 2004.
This town is home to about 9,513 people. It also oversees four smaller villages: Mereni, Plopeni, Prelipca, and Văratec. Salcea is well-known because the Suceava Airport is very close by. The town itself is about 11 kilometers (7 miles) east of the city of Suceava.
