Salih Bozok (born 1881, died April 25, 1941) was an important figure in Turkish history. He served as an officer in the Ottoman Army and later in the Turkish Army. He also became a politician in the Republic of Turkey.
Salih Bozok was best known as the chief aide-de-camp (a personal assistant and helper) to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Atatürk was the founder and first president of modern Turkey.
Bozok and Atatürk were very close friends. They were born in the same year, 1881, in the city of Thessaloniki. They even went to the same military school, the Monastir Military High School, together. Their friendship lasted their entire lives.
