Club Career Highlights
Salih Uçan has played for several football clubs throughout his career. He started his professional journey in Turkey and also played in Italy and Switzerland.
Time at Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe signed Salih Uçan on June 6, 2012. They paid €1.4 million for him, which was a high amount for a young Turkish player at that time. He signed a five-year contract.
First Goal for Fenerbahçe
On March 14, 2013, Salih scored his first goal for Fenerbahçe. This happened during a UEFA Europa League match. His goal helped Fenerbahçe get a 1–1 draw against Viktoria Plzeň. This result helped his team move forward in the Europa League competition. He also scored two goals against Orduspor in April 2013.
Loan to Roma
On July 7, 2014, Salih Uçan moved to Roma in Italy. This was a two-year loan deal. Roma paid €4.75 million for this loan. They had an option to buy him permanently later. He played his first official game for Roma on October 18, 2014. After two years, he had only played 10 games. Roma decided not to sign him permanently.
Loan to Sion
In July 2016, Salih returned to Fenerbahçe. However, a year later, he was loaned out again. On August 31, 2017, he joined Sion, a club in Switzerland. During his one-year loan, he played 19 league matches. He also played one match in the Swiss Cup.
Loan to Empoli
Salih Uçan returned to Fenerbahçe in July 2018. Soon after, on August 17, 2018, he joined Empoli in Italy on another loan. He scored a goal in his very first game for Empoli. This goal helped his team draw 3–3 with Frosinone on October 21, 2018. In January 2019, his move to Empoli became permanent.
Playing for Alanyaspor
On July 10, 2019, Salih Uçan signed with Alanyaspor, another Turkish club. He played for them for two seasons.
Joining Beşiktaş
After his contract with Alanyaspor ended in June 2021, Salih Uçan joined Beşiktaş. He moved to the current Turkish champions on a free transfer. Beşiktaş officially announced his arrival on July 4, 2021. On June 28, 2024, Salih signed a new contract with Beşiktaş. This new contract will keep him with the club for at least two more years.
Loan to İstanbul Başakşehir
On January 28, 2022, Salih Uçan was loaned to İstanbul Başakşehir. He played for them until the end of that season.
International Career
Salih Uçan has played for the Turkish national team at many different age levels. He was part of the Turkey national under-20 football team that played in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. His first game for the senior Turkey was on November 15, 2013. This match was against Northern Ireland. He has played a total of three games for the senior national team.
