This town is found in the southern part of the Pontevedra province. It sits where two river valleys meet: the Tea River and the Minho River. The Minho River forms a natural border to the south. This river also separates Galicia from Portugal, where you can find the fortified town of Monção. Salvaterra de Miño is surrounded by other towns. To the east, it borders As Neves. To the north, it borders Mondariz and Poteareas.
