Samito is a talented musician and creative person from Mozambique and Canada. He started a creative company called Fezihaus in Montréal in 2020. People describe his work as full of excitement for new sounds and open conversations.
Samito studied music at McGill University. He became well-known in 2016 with his song 'Tiku La Hina'. This song helped him perform at many big music festivals. Some of these festivals include SXSW, Osheaga, Pop Montreal, MAMA Festival, Reeperbahn, and Festival d'été de Québec.
In 2016, he also released "Cem Cem (feat. Mabika & Muneshine)" with the French label Kitsuné. The next year, in 2017, he released "I Saw You," an electronic club song, with Man Recordings from Berlin. Samito mostly sings his songs in Portuguese.

Samito's Music Journey
Samito was born in Maputo, Mozambique. He moved to Montréal in 2005 to study and then to start his music career. In Montréal, he worked with many other artists. He jammed and recorded music with SPRLUA, Rymz, Arthur Comeau, and Radio Radio. He also collaborated with Pierre Kwenders and Poirier.
His First Album and Awards
On May 27, 2016, Samito released his first album. It was called Samito. The album included his popular song "Tiku la Hina." A music video for "Tiku la Hina" was shown on Canadian music TV channels like Much and MusiquePlus.
In 2017, his album won a special award. It received the Félix Award for World Music Album Of The Year. This award was given at Québec's Gala De L’ADISQ. Samito was also named one of Radio Canada's promising new artists for 2015-2016.

Samito has worked with many famous musicians. His collaborations include Philippe Cohen-Solal from Gotan Project. He also worked with Daniel Haaksman, Dakat, Muneshine, and Pierre Kwenders.
