Samnorwood is a small community in Collingsworth County, Texas, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that the government counts for population, but it is not an officially incorporated town. Samnorwood was first recognized as a CDP around 1980.
In 2020, the population of Samnorwood was 24 people. This was a decrease from 51 people counted in 2010. The small settlement of Samnorwood, which the CDP is named after, is located within this area.
Location and Size
Samnorwood is found in the northern part of Collingsworth County. It is about 16 miles north of Wellington, which is the main town of the county. It is also about 14 miles south of Shamrock.
The United States Census Bureau reports that the Samnorwood CDP covers a total area of 4.2 square kilometers. All of this area is land, with no water.
