Samuel John Goldwyn Jr. (September 7, 1926 – January 9, 2015) was an American film producer. He helped create many movies and was known for his work in Hollywood.
Early Life and Education
Samuel Goldwyn Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on September 7, 1926. His mother was actress Frances Howard. His father was Samuel Goldwyn, a very important person in early movies.
Samuel Goldwyn Jr. went to Fountain Valley School. He also studied at the University of Virginia.
Career in Film
After serving in the United States Army during World War II, Samuel Goldwyn Jr. started his career. He worked in theater in London. He also worked for Edward R. Murrow at CBS in New York.
He then followed his father's path into movies. He started his own film companies. These included Formosa Productions, The Samuel Goldwyn Company, and Samuel Goldwyn Films. He produced many movies over the years.
In 1950, Goldwyn married actress Jennifer Howard. They had four children together. Their children include actor Tony Goldwyn and film executive John Goldwyn. He later married Peggy Elliot and had two more children, including Liz Goldwyn. At the time of his death, he was married to Patricia Strawn.
